I sure miss that is a website that has thousands and thousands of pages about thousands and thousands of topics. (found some without 250x250 intro, some with the "buggy" Twitter module, missing Amazon modules (I think, another bug) but glad to report, found no lingering Flickr plexo.

I still have lots of redoing photos (that ended up off size) that I haven't got to yet. So, I have the most updates done at one time (painstakingly so) since the "responsive" rollout. Some I dropped the top field of text, some I wrote more, and some I just deleted for now. I started just trying to do, like 10 at a time, but I kept going. Anyplace, I had a piece of chain jewelry, it was whoa! Some text looked fine, but in some my text was wonky. BUT recently, I stayed up till 4 o'clock in the morning trying to do something with those HUGE new Amazon images we have.

Some I do a major update, (after a six month lull) to see it I can bring some life to them.
#Squidoo script update
I usually update my traffic lenses, as need, each week, and try to rework a few bottom ones when I can. Glad you mentioned about "catching up" with the latest Squidoo change. More to the point, now I know for certain that HQ disapproves of automated updating scripts I shall have no hesitation in future in reporting any accounts I come across where the updating puzzles me and I think something is wrong - although I certainly don't have spare time to play detective and go wrote: "Bottom line - in future, if you do come across an account where very large numbers of lenses are all updating every day and this appears to be a pattern which repeats over time (as opposed to a one-off where people are catching up with the latest Squidoo template change!), it's probably a very smart move to take some screen dump(s) to generate the evidence and then report the account to Squidoo HQ for action (use the Giant report facility if you're a Giant)." I hasten to add that I also saw a lot of accounts associated with top lenses where no such thing was happening! Once I became aware that automated scripts might be being used I looked for myself and I've now seen accounts which have updated all lenses in one day where huge numbers are involved. In the process, I've found out that that there are ways and means which allow "naughty goings on" (a few Google queries had my jaw dropping!). Essentially I'm in the same boat as the rest of you - I've got lenses which have lost rank and traffic significantly in recent weeks and I've been trying hard to understand why. I hasten to add I'm NOT a lensmaster who has reported any such accounts to date (this is all very, very new to me) and I'm certainly not pointing fingers at any lensmasters. Do remember to cite Rule 3 on Reasons Squidoo Accounts Get Deletedas to the reason why you're bringing it to their attention.
#Squidoo script software
In my opinion, it's very clear that HQ regards any attempt to manipulate - using software scripts to automate updating and hence improve lens rank - as completely taboo and has declared that this is a common reason for deleting any such lenses involved in such shenanigans.īottom line - in future, if you do come across an account where very large numbers of lenses are all updating every day and this appears to be a pattern which repeats over time (as opposed to a one-off where people are catching up with the latest Squidoo template change!), it's probably a very smart move to take some screen dump(s) to generate the evidence and then report the account to Squidoo HQ for action (use the Giant report facility if you're a Giant). Using scripts or software to bypass administrative Squidoo functions.
